I would like to express my opinion about the statement a woman should not have high education. There are two reasons why I do not agree with the statement: human civilization on Theory and Hemisphere theory.

To start with, let me elaborate the first reasons. Human civilization theory should that the role of woman has been changing. There are many women who take various roles. R.A. Kartini is the activist of woman liberation. Her effort to equalize woman’s role and man’s role has brought about the various roles a woman can take now days. Then, Megawati was the fifth president of Indonesian Republic. Next, Siti Fadilah Supari current Indonesian minister of health. Hillary Clinton is the other example of a successful woman. She was almost to be U.S president if she did not lose from Barack Obama is the last public election.

Secondly, the Hemisphere theory should that a man and a woman have both equal talent/potential to learn anything. Therefore, many laws guarantee the right of a woman to have high education. The Indonesia Constitution 1945 verse 31 line 1 said “Setiap warga negara berhak mendapatkan pendidikan.” Its means that the state protect the woman’s right to have high education. The human right constitution member 39, 1999 verse 48 also guarantee the woman’s right. It said “Wanita berhak untuk memperoleh pendidikan dan pengajaran”. Again, the SISPENAS No. 20 2003 chapter IV verse 5 line 1 said, “Setiap warga negara berhak untuk memperoleh pendidikan yang bermutu”. Unesco Convention is still the next laws that guarantee the woman’s right to have high education. The convention said that any citizen is entitled to a having a good education, no matter that.

All in all, the right of a woman to have high education is supported by the human civilization and the Hemisphere Theory. Therefore I insist that woman should struggle for their own right. When there is a will, there is a way. Thank you.
